PLANNER ( Demand and Lifecycle Planning)
API Consumer Business
Reporting to the Channel Planning Manager, this role holds responsibility for maintenance and enhancement of the Plan of Record (POR) and Demand Ladders online toolset which enables accurate timing & supportability of retail system builds, supports the Retail Readiness process, creates label copy for retail boxes, and provides data on historical/future demand by channel, platform, lifecycle, component, etc. The analyst scope covers creating timely and accurate scorecards, regularly scheduled reporting, ad- hoc report requests, and analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work cross-functionally to establish timely and accurate LCP scorecards and reporting. Includes weekly reporting on demand forecast vs. actuals, margin (TMU) changes, roadmap configuration lock, and MSP vs. Ladders Demand.
- Support requests for additional ad hoc data mining/analysis of POR and ladders data in specific formats to meet the needs of the users.
- Provide data required for pre-cycle activities. This includes historical analysis to supplement forecasting for the Master Sales Plan (Revenue, Units, Margin, etc), creation of the merchandising roadmap, and planning for the regional retail channel.
- Have a thorough understanding of retail cycles and trends.
- Primary escalation point for the online toolset, including all trouble ticket issues and change requests.
- Evaluate tool trouble ticket issues/change requests and prioritize their completion based on business needs. Work with users to thoroughly understand their request/issue, and collaborate with tool developer to ensure changes are launched successfully. Must be aware of potential impacts so that changes do not limit other tool functionality for other users.
- Manage user access to ensure security and usability of online tool set.
- Continue to identify opportunities for improving the accuracy, usability, and automation of tools and processes. Work with the tool developers to implement changes necessary to drive continuous improvement of the toolset.
- Complete regular audit checks to identify missing/incorrect non-system COGS and pricing in the POR for Americas.
- Work closely with the regional teams to roll out the online retail toolset globally to support globalization of Lifecycle Planning and Demand Planning.
- Monitor distribution of the retail Ad Model for Americas to add all new SKU descriptions to the online POR tool monthly so that 1) configs can be created in the tool with the latest spec options, and 2) the spec data that will appear on the retail label will use the correct legal description in the copy format determined by Merchandising.
- Contribute in weekly lifecycle and operational global meetings to provide/receive timely feedback, and to act as reporting and online toolset subject matter expert.
Qualifications
- Possess strong analytical skills with business and finance acumen
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Must be able to understand priorities and identify value added needs to ensure they are delivered in a timely fashion
- Negotiating skills and ability to resolve conflict and multiple priorities
- Strong Dell product knowledge and familiarity with system level components and SKU’s
- Able to contribute and provide timely updates to the extended team
- Ability to deliver quality results under stress and deadlines; result oriented with a drive for excellence in an ambiguous environment
- Understand and follow business controls and audit processes. Have the ability to recommend changes or implement processes that improve the overall LCP process
- Strong verbal/written communication skills including meeting facilitation, presentations, and communication with all levels of management & staff
- Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a cross-functional group
- Demonstrated leadership capability (motivate and mentor others within a work group)
- Occasional travel for market trips and corporate Sales meeting
